The chao loses its metallic color however, breeding it with another chao will result in a baby born with the same Jewel color. You can get three new colors: Gold, Silver and Two tone Black. Bronze Chao from Sonic adventure will turn to Gold, and Onyx Chao will be Silver if transported to SA2.
These Chao have cool colors! Turn the Silver and Gold Chao into Neutral Fly types and look at their cool jewel colored wings! I'm disappointed with SA2:B because the Jewel colors have lost their quality; the Chao cannot have Jewel colored wings.
P.S. If you have the Chao editor you can create the Chao rangers- Their jewel colors all have Brightness level 0
