Guys, are we near Doomsday?! (Must Read)

TU24 2007 (an asteroid) is on it's way to earth on January 29th, 2008. Now will it hit Earth? We don't know. It all depends on it's charge. If it's a negative charge, then we all can kiss ourselves goodbye. If it's positive, then we are lucky and will most likely not get hit.

Check out these out...

Also, actor Heath Ledger found dead in NYC.

Last, but not least...A minor stock market crash has occurred. Thank God it's not as severe as the Great Depression!

This is not good.

OMG heath ledger died? That's great news. And as for the rock in the sky. . . "Oopsey. . ." is my only comment.

And as for the stock market crash, don't fucking remind me. I lost a good chunk in long term stock.

When uhh.. the rock comes within range don't be surprised if all hell breaks lose. . . Uhh. . . Demons and whatnot.

I'd have fun if that was our fate. I mean i'd get to use my sword for more than just cutting shrubs.

First you say i have a horse size wee with zebra stripes, now you call me a noob. Dude you -must- be fucked in the head like me.

I just mean if it vaguely resembles modern english I can usually read it...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/24 01:38:25
poor typing, l337, Shakespeare. Ironically I'm really bad a foreign languages for some reason. 4 years of french and I learned how to say "I don't know." It's a true answer no matter what the question is.

Re: I just mean if it vaguely resembles modern english I can usually read it...

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/24 02:33:26
I took a year of french. I learned Que ocuppe la framage or something like that. . .
I also learned Futois(or something likt that)
I learned Piss is piss in any language just about.
And i learned enough spanish one year to get me in big trouble XD

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/24 02:47:06
Behold what mine whistful eye doth behold. . .For thine visage stirs the blood within mine bosom. Thy heart beats the same as I, so come hither and let mine eyes gaze upon thee for a time.
Wouldst thou deny me such favors and whims as these, simply to behold thine beauty? Tell me so mine heart would comprehend. . . Tell me oh dryad, oh wisp who stands in my path, doest though believe I to be true? Canst thou not trust in mine hand as it passes before thine bosom, to feel thine warm heartbeat? Wouldst thou deny me?

(ahem i don't read shakespear much, save for king lear, macbeth, hamlet and that ilk. But as for that, you won't find it in shakespear)

Decypher that.

Roughly translated, it means...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/24 05:51:54
"you make me horny"

Yea. That's about it too.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/24 05:53:54

Very rough, but I favored humor value over precision.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/24 05:57:55

Well it was fairly accurate

Rome isn't really that good... This is also probably something created by the government to make us spend more money.. Then they say the asteroid passes and we all say "WTF?!" Cept for me because I'll have know this was coming...

Do you really think we'd get whomped

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/24 03:14:38
by a meteor?
As a speciese the human race is fully capable of calculating it's extra-terrestrial trajectory, altering it through means unbenounced to us (nasa doesn't play footsie with themselves for the percentage of the bugget that gets forked out to them) And on top of that, a combination of rocketry and explosives has led us not only to missiles that can be launched from anywhere, to anywhere, but with the same technology, ones that could be launched to meet our celestial body of dread. Even if we had only 10 days, with the kind of money the governing parties has their hands on, they'd have preparations made in 5 days.
Since we're now looking at 6, i'm sure they've known of it long enough now to make proper preparations. And if the ultimate doom of humanity is inevitable, they would have said something publicly by now. Or sent a team of oil drillers to set some beefy tactical nukes into the beast's belly.

You know meteors pass into our atmosphere all the time? The air friction once it becomes a meteorite causes 99.9999999% of them to explode on contact, and the pieces burn up well before even comming close to the surface (the phenominon you experience when watching falling stars and meteor showers)Even if it were the size of texas. or even the size of the moon, were it to hit or atmosphere it would crackle and shatter. though we may see countless buic sized rocks falling on our heads, and the dust from any large ones that weren't broken down may cloud up the sky for a ways, we're not the dinosaurs. We have ways of protecting ourselves from such disasterous fates. They had no shelter, no means of survival, no tools, no way to cultivate their own supply of food. We do.
Even if the apocalypse comes, (which is doubtful that it even comes near us) there will be more than a handfull of survivors. I'd say no more than 10-20% of the population will die from the initial impact. The human race could use such a culling to remind them that even as the dominant speciese on the earth, they're still subject to the wrath of the heavens.

I hope. . .

XD

Did you know there's only one recorded instances of meteor induced injury?...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/24 05:50:39
In human history? A meteor the size of a golfball came through a woman's window, bounced around her living room, smashing a lamp, and bruised her leg. You're more likely to get hit with a falling fish. That's almost happened to me. Twice. Damn birds are trying to take me out with a trout to the head.

That reminds me of my fisherman days in the Louisiana Bayou.
Pellicans would raid my ice chest if i left it open and haul ass with my fish. They're better fishermen than I appearantly. I couldn't get away with fishing out of someones ice chest.

I don't think something's going to happen (I mean the asteroid). There's still many things I would like to do, or at least one in specific before I die.

As for the economy, I don't even want to think about it! They are going to pay...

Go to the links.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/24 23:46:27
The chance of the asteroid making contact is 0.00%

As far as electrical disturbances and environmental now. . . That's another story.
If it's charged wrong we'll most likely see widespread blackouts, earthquakes, tidal anomalies, volcanic eruptions, and thunderstorms up the asshole.
