I understand where you're coming from. . . But that doesn't change the fact that I'm bored out of my skull by you all. . . So much so that I'm picking splinters out of my member. (Metaphorically)

On top of all that I've stopped playing sAB2 and started playing my ps2 again. Something about the Legacy of Kain series makes me randy. I dunno. With Kain and Raziel playing games across the eras, and the ominous squid that insists it's the hub of the inexorable wheel of death and rebirth, and all the swordplay (omfg. . . Swords=Porn for NohmNohmz)
(Most melee wepons=Porno for Nohmz)

The term coined from the war in Vietnam for a soldier fresh out of basic is used quite constantly to describe people -new- to something on the net, and the term is often not used in kind context. Generally new people are alienated by Regulars.

Does it take place in the wall of fire Era?

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/14 05:52:30
That would be from cao pi to cao cao warring with the liu family (liu bei wanting to resurect the han dynasty) and the wastful progeny of Sun Tzu, sun quan.

Cao Cao in his benevolence saut to unite china under his banner of peace and order, while Liu Bei rebuilt his empire in south western china after being chased out of the northeast by cao rui. And Sun Quan driving the empire his father built into the ground with ideals of free government.

Re: Does it take place in the wall of fire Era?

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/14 06:04:01
Some say the Caos were a family of fanatical tyrants, and that the sun family's noble name was honored greatly by sun quan's rule. And most say that the Liu family were simply roaches that wouldn't die.

In fact, the Cao family namesake was order and peace by uniting the feudal lords under one banner. And Sun Jian brought much honor to his name by not only entrenching an empire, but maintaining some sense of fair governing. Sun Quan however, had no head for politics, so his empire was basically run by Lu Bu (the name should ring a bell because the fucker was a handsome, and distinguished warrior as well as an intelligent and calculative man). Surely he was running the show behind closed doors, and Sun Quan was only emperor in title.

As for Liu Bei, his family legacy was to see the han empire resurected from the great days of Liu Bang. However that dream was short lived. By the time the battle of wei, wu, and shu came about, both cao cao and liu bei were ancient. Sun Quan still in his prime, had no concerns of who'd succeed him. Didn't save him in the long run though. Even Lu Bu couldn't save the country from it's well plotted demise.

Err.. anyhow. . .

(don't get me started on feudal japan. . . Or Temuljin's rise to power after beating jamuga to a pulp. . . Or Atilla's rise to power and his harem. . . mm. . . harem. . .)

And can i get that for the PS 2, and an order of curly fries would be nice too. . .

Castlevania
The oldskool stuff.
With the inmaneuverable belmonts and their whips that only hit in one dirrection.

They took a foul turn with symphony of the night when they tried to add an RPG element.

WAY too many items to skim through, HORRIBLE dialogue and voice overs, and Alucard is Dracula backwards.

The storyline was bunk, the story progression was bunk, The fact that Maria was in places that Alucard could barely get in (Such as the room at the end of the hall of spikes through a grate that only gas could pass through. . . DURRRH). ASIDE all this. . .
I still play that fucking game.
In fact i dare say i've mastered it. I even explored glitch areas and a glitch save point under the main gate.

Best EQ in symphony (If anyone cares)

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/17 08:25:55
REGARDLESS of what anyone says, the full alucard set is not the best. Only the shield, armour, and helmet are. And even the helmet isn't that great.

Sure the twilight cloak looks cool with flashing red lining, but what could beat a cloak you design yourself with only 1 CON less than the twilight cloak (Joseph's Cloak)

And The alucars sword is pretty great, strong attack (not the strongest) Fast, (not the fastest, but close) and a special move built in. HOWEVER, a Crissaegrim is FAR BETTER. It has no special move and is only a few points stronger than the alucard sword, but it's normal attack might as well be a special attack. It slashes like 6 times at full power, and is virtually the fastest weapon in the game. You can unleash a barrage of attacks and hit them as fast as you could with 99 surikens equipped on both shield and sword arm and pressing them with autofire. On top of that you can get it even faster with 2 crissaegrim swords and alternating square and circle rapidly. I can clear a room of the strongest things without stopping or breaking a sweat. (Shmoo has those. Find shmoo in reverse library)

Also the Heaven sword isn't even considered a sword. It's normal attack sends a sword streaming across the screen and then flipping back, hitting everything in a line. It has no magic attack properties, which makes it hit just about everything the same, no bonuses or penalties. It's a slow rebound, so it's best to have a much faster secondary weapon in order to keep from getting caught without a weapon. (Cloaked Knights carry those. They can be found in the secret attic of the clock tower, or in every part of the reverse clock tower.)

And as for the alucard armor, I often replace that with either dark armor, Gods garb, or the walk armor. (Dark armor and dark shield (which actually does damage to enemies it touches, and has an awesome shield rod spell) are held by the demon malachai (or whatever. It should have been called Cthulu, because that's what it looks like, the demon cthulu) He can be found in Olrox Quarters in the halls just below the clock room, and just to the left of the reverse colluseum))

Also the Fire shield nullifies all fire attacks in case you don't have ruby circlet. It also has a right nasty shield rod spell. Fire demons drop those, as well as marsil, the strongest fire blade in the game. It's normal attack is like the firebrands special attack. and it's special attack covers a chunk of the screen in flames. Fire demons frequent the reverse laboratory.

Ahem... that's if anyone cares.

Personally. . .

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/17 08:34:09
I prefer to save 2 power of sire items and buy a duplicator and just whomp through everything by pressing them alternately at a timing that allows a constant barrage. Bat pentagram and pentagrams work well too, but are slower. Same for neutron bombs. Power of sire doesn't have the highest attack, but it hits repeatedly, and you can use it again faster than you could other bomb items.

Familliar levels

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/17 08:38:39
Familliars can be gaining a level per 3 seconds or less. If you have the fingers for it. Mine tend to get sore.

the trick involves power of sire and a duplicator, but can be done (much slower mind you) with any melee weapon. Go into the reverse library. if using power of sire, go all the way to the end to the room under the librarian (or rather, it's equivelent in the reverse castle). Then stand at the door to the next room where the monsters are. Simply go in, cast power of sire, and go back. Repeat this to gain a level every few seconds. With a normal weapon, just go in the same area and kill stuff.

No i didn't look this stuff up on the net.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/17 08:41:17

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 05:08:39
But there were two I'd tollerate with much enthusiasm. Castlevania (Though it was always a corny depiction of vampires and hunters, belmonts rule regardless) and ....MEGAMAN

Yes yes.. I am a megamaniac. I pwned megaman.
And BTW, for anyone to have said when ever a new castlevania game had come out that the music on it sucked.. well that person probably likes hank williams senior and those french swamphop singers who sing in french about mollesting their 10 year old neices.

That's right. You've read it here. I've typed it. If you didn't like Castlevania's musical score at the time of any of the game releases, you're a country, cornfed cow who is either being mollested by an uncle, or mollesting a neice.

I'm not saying worship it. I'm saying consider it a tollerable score for a game.
It's Very tollerable.
And so is megaman.
:P

Please Note. All anime games have at least one killer score in them.

And forgive me, but I love Odessa's theme from suikoden.

What a game man. . . Where else does a character have to whomp their father and then with his dieing breath, daddy says "I'm proud of ya son"
while his soul is sucked up by a curse-mark in your arm that eats the sould of anyone you care about to become stronger.

And Suikoden 2 was even better.
Luca (my cat's name BTW because he treats his mices like this) Blight makes a woman get on all fours and squeel like a pig in order to save her own life, she does and he still lops off her head and chuckles about it.

God i love that guy.

And Flick. I love him too. A guy so in love with odessa that years later he still can't look another girl in the face. Victor's kinda lame, and Humphrey from suikoden 1 owns. can get him with the dragon knight in 2. Unfortunately, no Yuber or Pesmerga. However that changes later on when Luc decides to turn Villain and join Pesmerga was it? or Yuber? either way. . .

If you don't like RPG's or Anime games, don't go for it. But even if you don't like anime games, buy it. Suikoden and it's offspring are the greatest games i've ever played. . . Well besides a few by Koei. Strange. Castlevania, Suikoden, and another of my favs, Metal Gear are all Konami. Hmm. I forgot what Tenchu was though, but i liked that game. And whomever those wizards of the west coast or east coast or whatever coast are who put together the Legacy of Kain series. . . They need a gold star.

No. two.

Re: I never liked platformers

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 05:15:06
I'm sorry, but when I first played suikoden some odd centuries ago, I got depressed every time someone died and got eaten by the souleater, and I sniffled when Odessa died.

seriously man.. my eyes welled up, I sniffled, and just said "that's fucked up man. yall are fucked up. That's fucked. nuh uh she didn't die man. Fuck yall."

Of all the characters in the game, she deserved to die the least.

And now that I think back on it. . .

I'd do the same fucking thing if i made a game. I'd let you get to know all these nifty goodguy characters, real sweethearts, white knights, and shit. . . Then I'd kill all them bastards and make it the main characters fault.

>:)

Re: I never liked platformers

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 05:23:30
Truth be told, that's what I feel makes for a great game. Emotional emersion. When you have to either stop and put down the controller while pausing and turning on the lights to say "holy shit that was freaky", or you end up saying "god this sucks. why'd they have to turn bad" or "why'd they have to die" or "wow, that one is unbearably sweet".

To really drag someone in to the story, they have to relate in some way to the characters. Same goes for books.

The best way to do that is through a surprising and strong emotional moment. Either a Cute little girl-child who comes along and saves an anti-hero from a life of torment, or a character you've been following for hours, getting to know them, learning how their role seems crucial to the story, then they abruptly die, or turn bad, or something.

Thick plots like thanksgiving gravy after it's been in the fridge for a week.

Re: I never liked platformers

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 05:29:35
Man i love it when a story kicks you in the nuts like that. At the moment you are so involved it's like it happened to you, but later on you think about it and mumble "pure and simple genious"

After something like that, your eyes become glued to the book-movie-videogame.

Either that or it infuriates you to the point where you have to burn it.

I've done that too.

If you like Anime styled games, you might enjoy the disgaea series...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 06:29:00
They're not exactly the type to kill people off on you, but the stories are quirky and definitely have some interesting plot twists. Dungeon keeper might also amuse you. There's not a whole lot of story, but what is there is great. You're evil. Kill the pink nosed do gooders and steal all the SHINIES. Then redecorate hell with a new carpet of skulls and have some tea. You earned it.

Dungeon Keeper sounds quite amusing

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 06:38:19
Considering one of my most recent favorites has the main character being a vampire who's pure villain (and of course a former vampire turned soul-sucking demon)

I do enjoy playing the villain. Someone's got to be the bad guy. :)

Get the original. The second one wasn't nearly as good...

Oh, and the deeper dungeons expansion. The easiest level in the expansion is more of a challenge than the final level in the original.

Have you tried the original Final Fantasy Tactics?...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 06:24:15
It gets a bit ridiculous toward the end as you realize that literally everyone is out to betray you, but there are several characters that leave you thinking, aw man, why did HE turn about to be a jerk too?! Especially your best friend. I got rather angry when he turned out to be backstabbing dick. And then you save the fucking world and they won't even give you a burial because you're a heretic. Bastards. I'll let the demon eat you next time.

Funny, that's about how I percieved it too.

They said Megaman Zero was a tough game...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 06:20:06
I didn't think it was that hard. Sure, the bosses dealt some ridiculous damage, bu those helper elfs really evened the score, especially for the second play through.

. . . What platform is that on.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 06:29:56
I never played zero, but now I have to.

GBA. There are like four of them. I'm talking about the first.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 06:48:04

NVM then

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 07:33:00
Fuck GBA, and fuck the headaches that come from pinched nerves in my neck (my neck doesn't bend too well, it's nearly as though i have no neck, it's so thick. That's another reason i love girls. they have such thin necks, i could wrap one hand arround them.

Huh. I haven't got a neck to speak of either...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 07:45:48
but it doesn't bother me. Then again, my neck muscles are pretty strong.

Re: Huh. I haven't got a neck to speak of either...

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/18 07:54:28
From all that felatio huh?

(I couldn't resist that)

Anyhow my muscles aren't spongey. It's just that i'm prone to back and neck problems since my dad was born with a crooked spine and all. and his dad had back problems. And greatgreat grandpaw had some too if i'm not mistaken.

They said my spiine was straight, and it is, but for some odd reason i get nagging back and neck pains (depending on how i sleep, or how I bend my neck)

I tend to hold GBA and other handhelds in my lap, therefore, my thick ass neck strains so I can look straight down. Also, I have astygmatism, so I don't like little screens all that much. makes for headaches from squinting so much.

If you're going to hold it like that you also need to slouch forward...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/18 08:23:31
of course, that can hurt your back, but this is why I usually hold it up in front of my face, or play in bed before going to sleep. Although I haven't done that in a while since I left it at home.

Yeah, that's tanks...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/17 08:15:24
Ironically, tanks are more powerful than Arwings, and people on foot are toughest of all. Well, actually, they all take damage the same, but the people are foot are almost impossible to see, let alone hit, and don't show up on radar. Neither do the tanks. Since the tanks and the Arwings are both constantly moving forward, it's difficult to get the people as long as they zigzag, since the turning radius is bad, and since the tanks have better turn and don't move forward as fast it's easier for them to shoot arwings out of the sky. The only thing that keeps it fair is the arwing's ability to more easily collect the powerups.

I'd love to go multiplayer

But I didn't have anyone I'd invite over to play games. and I haven't touched Starfox in ages. I used to have the urge to play once in a while, but ever since i got battlefront 2 when it first came out, I've been spaced out on space. I'm practically a jedi master clone. I've got legendary on everything except the blaster rifle, and my younger brother has legendary on everything except technician, demolition, sniper rifle and shotgun.

He hates it when i get headshot after headshot with my permanant beam rifle. Even when we're on the same side.
I like space combat mostly though. I like to infiltrate command ships and blow them up from the inside, while my little bro pounds them from the outside. That kid's got skill when it comes to games like that. We whomped San andreas with 1484 stars attained, and 1323 evaded. 100%, and before we even got all the little collectibles, I had a tank in 3 different garages. I robbed the hell out of the military base in the desert. I mean robbed them blind.

Err...

I need to sleep. I tend to drone on and on when I don't sleep for a few days.

It's not that we could have stopped you...

It's that we didn't get on your case for it. And generally this is not the best place to go for immediate gratification when you're bored. It moves rather slowly. If you're going to go online, I'd recommend a messenger of some sort. It's much easier to have a conversation in anything resembling real time.

Everyone on my Yahoo list. . .

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/13 11:20:18
Have lives.

I'm assuming that the activites which comprise said lives are not ones you can join...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/13 11:26:54
So the best advice I can offer you is meet some new people. I don't even know if my yahoo acount is still active, but I can be found on MSN and AIM from time to time under my usual handle.

Imediate Gratification

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/13 11:28:17
That sounds dirty. Details?

I just meant that people aren't always on at the same you are...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/13 11:38:56
There was a time when it was occupied twenty four seven and you couldn't leave without missing five pages, but that was a long time ago. Lately there's been a decent chance, but there are times when no new posts are made for days.

Very well said.

That's rather obvious. it's a message board.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/13 23:08:18

It wasn't always like that though...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2008/01/14 05:24:05
When I first joined in ninth grade there were ALWAYS people on. It's slowed down a lot in the last four years, and as I understand it prior to my first coming it was even wilder.

Wild isn't a word you should use.

®Prof. NohmNohmz™ ID:017807 2008/01/16 01:57:57
You may invoke my lusty personality by using the word "wild" to describe something that isn't an animal.
