I am full aware of what "could" be done.
However, you have no idea of the events (multitude) that had transpired to mould my perception in such a manner.
Also, I somewhat enjoy being the wretched child. It is far more comforting to loathe the earth and it's spawn, than to accept the fact that I was so weak, and hopeless that I would allow such travesties to befall me.
I had chosen to be destroyed, so that i might better rebuild myself. That singular fact alone is what keeps me from joining my best friend in his grave.

seeing as I don't actually know what's happened to you beyond a friend commiting suicide, which is a pretty awful thing to have happen but I will say that I've never heard anyone say that they would be understood. I do understand treating the life as "everyone hates/ignores me and so I return the favor". There's a certain amount of comfort in knowing you can never be nastily surprised by someone turning on you.

It would also help if you knew a little more about us...

war, on the other hand, is a pretty good indicator. But go on, pick a moral high point if you belive things were better in the past. Give me an example of a period where people were better than they are now. The first reaction is to say people were better in the past, but the more you look into history the more you realize we just keep repeating the same dumb mistakes over and over. The only thing that changes is how much it's sensationalized and recorded for posterity. Humanity isn't getting any better, but neither is it getting worse.

Again i say look at the details.
Money, sex, drugs, television, vogue, myspace, theinternet, computers, distractions galore.
We are -given- the things that once were ideals to protect. We take advantage of concepts that were once only dreams. We use eachother to meet our own agendas. tools to make life more bearable instead serve as a distraction that we no longer do for ourselves what was intended from the start. Our path is to make our own way through this life, but the communal disaster of society has doomed us to serving, and being served, while at the same time, forgetting the most important things in life in general. We grow numb enough to function in an ideal society that suddenly outlaws ideals of a better world simply to line the pockets of corperate tyrants who worship worldly gain for it's own sake. Corruption is complexity. Simplicity is innocent. The more complex this web of skewed ideals and corpses becomes, the less innocent the world itself becomes. We are not given the choice to live simplistically anymore. We've been hard-wired to survive with the aid of all destroying forces that sap the life right out of the plannet. Even I am a slave to this machine. It doesn't make me a hippocrite to address this. . . Simply aware.

There's more corruption on a quantity scale because there are more people, but in terms of individuals it hasn't changed except that we're more aware of it. It seems worse because there's more, and we're more aware of it, but pick any point in recorded history and you'll find examples of people ranging from the nearly completely corrupt to the nearly completely idealist. People haven't changed, awareness has.

Yes, and we can sometimes see that reflected in our behaviour...
