you can reuse animals to shoot your way up to level 99
Get an animal, place it directly in front of the Chao without giving it to him.
He must be facing you (Sonic / Shadow will help you best with this trick, because of their put down method).

I discovered it on my own before looking at any cheats during my first chaos chao run-through.

CHAO BBS To view new posts, use the R Trigger to display the menu, then select "Reload."
