Your chao isn't weird at all. You chao changed to green because that's normal for running type chaos. Also, your chao is wearing the egg shell on his head because his power stats are high enough for him to do so. It's no emotional attachment, it's just you gave him the eggshell, so now he wears it. To take it off, you have to either hit or throw him.
