Everyone online has a dramatic life with many near death experiences. You are here today, online, so we know that you are alive and well enough to pay for internet. So save your sob stories. People died that day. But we also murdered just as many in the middle east.

That's true.

It seems that the UNITED States only cares what hapenning in their own country. You have no idea how many people died in Tsunami.

This was someone's thought on the matter of 9/11.

"I wish people would move on already. Yes, it was tragic. Yes it was a terrible event that so many people died in such a horrible way. But honestly, if we had a 2 minute's silence for every bad thing that happens, no-one would ever speak again. There have been plenty of other atrocoties, some more recent, the only reason people think of 9/11 is that it is a powerful symbol of terror. The people who died in 9/11 pale into tiny insignificance next to the people who died in WW1 and 2, and I think that it is more of a bad thing that no-one really even thinks about those any more, except to design the next violent computer game.

Human history is full of huge numbers of people being slaughtered for no good reason, and it seems illogical to have 2 minutes' silence for the victims of 9/11 and not any other major tragedy. America has turned 9/11 into a symbol of propaganda to justify war, and that to me is a far greater tragedy."

That's an excellent point.

Yeah...

More marines died in this 'War On Terrorism' than people who died in that terrorist attack.

I'll copy and paste what I said on your board:

"Actually I do think the poster is correct. Although the thing is, this 9-11 event is still somewhat recent, as opposed to the other war dealies. And also, this 9-11 is what caused the war that's going on right now in the first place, so it's not a thing of the past yet."

Erm for a correction, well it didn't cause the war that's going on now (because basically, anything can be connected together in order to make it a "cause". And you can go even further back to the past to find the root cause, which I believe had to do with another war), but it was one of the main steps. Oh, and replace "And also, this 9-11" with "It". Anyway, I myself am going with that poster because I agree with him/her, but I'm just giving a possible reason for those people who actually do still mourn over that. Although they are blind to other major events happening.

More US soldiers have died in Iraq than people were killed on 9/11. That's not counting people who were mortally wounded and shipped out to try and save, and then died. That's also not counting deaths in Afganistan. Shouldn't we have a moment of silence on the day where we bombed Baghdad? We killed so many innocent civilians there it isn't even funny. We wanted to free the people from Saddam, so we bomb the fucking capital? That's like trying to free the citizens of the US by killing the president and bombing all of DC. You don't bomb people you try to free. It just doesn't work that way.

Plus, Saddam didn't have any weapons of mass destruction. Yes, people would be better off free from a dictatorship, but engulfing their country in war killed more people than Saddam had ever! It's terrible. He didn't have the weapons we were looking for, and we killed more people than he did when we were trying to free them from HIM! How does that make sense?

His answer would be something like, "Well, let me ask Chene- err... Hold that thought! I have to go to the bathroom."

Saddam doesn't have to do with anything about 9/11.
