A jewel chao is one that you get from the tiny chao garden (Silver and Gold don't count though), and you can get shiny chao in the black market.

That source was right. That is how you get an invisible chao.

But it said only certain jewel and certain shiny chao I have 2 emerald , 1 saphire, and 1 ruby chao, a shiny blue chao and 4000 rings to spend... which can I use

Eh... well an old friend of mine used a silver chao and a shiny grey chao.
