Non-believer.

I'm Christian.

Re: Religion[the rest is inside]

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/15 09:34:46
Christian.

Is it just me, or...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/15 10:21:36
does anyone else think the whole story of Rudolph is a bit shallow? (didn't feel like making a new post about it)

I mean the only reason the other reindeer like him is because he became, in a way, "famous".

Re: Is it just me, or...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/15 10:23:18
Kinda...
But it was his talent that made him famous, right?
I dunno...

Re: Is it just me, or...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/15 10:24:31
But having a glowing red nose isn't a talent, it's just a physical feature...

which makes it even more shallow!

Re: Is it just me, or...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/15 10:26:32
True...
But that one girl deer liked him even when the rest were picking on him.

Re: Is it just me, or...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/15 10:33:42
O_o I'm just referring to the traditional song, not the television/theatre adaptions.

Re: Is it just me, or...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/15 10:55:04
oh

Re: Is it just me, or...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/15 11:08:43
"oh"? That's it? +_+;

The other reindeer are shallow...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/16 06:53:52
but the moral, which is, as near as I can make out: differences are important and you shouldn't make fun of people for them, is trite but not without merit.

Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/17 07:51:41
A bunch of guys always picked on me. The funny thing is, I think they ended up being homosexual later on...

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/17 08:42:45
Heh, maybe they picked on you because they liked you then.

BTW, I hate to be "nitty picky", but are you implying homophobia here, or are you "just saying"?

EDIT: Or do you mean they picked on you for not "being man enough" or something like that? Then your last line would make sense if that was the case.

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/17 12:10:36
@BTW: Yes, I am very afraid.
@Edit: Yes, and that wasn't my fault. I was homeschooled until that point, and didn't understand a lot of sexual things. They asked me a question involving gender, and apparently having no idea, I answered wrong. I loathe that class for being so judgemental.
EDIT:
To add to that, I've always been a bit of a wimp...

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/19 08:32:01
Well to be honest, I hate the whole concept of being "man enough/man-ly/etc.". It's just sexist and stereotypical.

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 13:13:01
Yeah. A lot of people say it's bad to be geeky and not like sports. I just like to focus on my mental abilities...

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/20 13:31:45
Same here :/

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 13:35:59
Yeah...
You know that that site you sent me for Sonic music requires me to buy stuff from FilePlanet to download?

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/20 14:19:51
No. Well I made an account there, and it never made me buy anything. What is it saying/are you doing exactly?

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 14:21:52
I signed up, but whenever I click the download button, it automatically makes me go to that site and asks me to buy stuff.

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 14:25:40
But it doesn't matter. I don't need anymore songs that badly.

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/20 14:30:06
Well, I just know that you're supposed to click on one of the last two download servers listed.

Re: Shallow? Kind of like fourth grade...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 14:53:18
Oh well.
Whatever.

*looks*

They look kinda small and feminine, but nice enough all the same. Why?

Re: Religion[the rest is inside]

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/15 10:37:17
I have none.

Re: Religion[the rest is inside]

Victor ID:018081 2006/05/15 11:58:18
Your MOM has none. >.>

That's a good question...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/16 06:55:41
I'm not even sure of that myself anymore. I know what I believe, but I don't know what you'd call it.

Re: That's a good question...

Blaze the Cat ID:018104 2006/05/16 09:06:40
you don't know what you call your own religion....ok just tell me what you believe and i'll see if I know what it's called

No, you see, I don't really belong to any organized religion...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/16 10:24:39
I have my own set of beliefs, and rather than attempting to fit into any larger group I prefer to walk my own path. I'm not anti organized religion, I just don't trust it. I know lots of wonderful church goers, and I've worked alongside them many a time, and hope to continue to do so, but I've also studied enough history to see the stupid wars fought in God's name.

Re: No, you see, I don't really belong to any organized religion...

Blaze the Cat ID:018104 2006/05/16 10:28:05
.......*sigh* just like you not to understand why it was fought like that [even if I did explain it you still probuly wouln't understand]

It was fought like that because people are ignorant and prejudiced...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/16 10:40:50
and while I'm well aware that's the fault of the people who started the wars, and not the religion they used to inspire the masses, organized religion is still an incredibly dangerous thing in the wrong hands, and it falls into those hands too frequently for me to be comfortable as part of it.

Re: No, you see, I don't really belong to any organized religion...

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/16 11:39:32
Not for nothing, but this is how I see the crusades:

The way Christians see it: "March onward, men! We need to retake the holy city of Jerusalem!"

The way it really was: "Let's invade the middle east so we can get spices and other exotic items!"

The way Muslims see it: *Christians bang down the doors and shout* SURRENDER YOUR LANDS IN THE NAME OF THE GREAT JEHOVAH AND THE POPE OF THE CATHOLIC CHRUCH!

I'm not part of a religion if you didn't guess that. <3

Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/17 08:04:59
I'm a Christian (not Catholic), and I don't think taking Jerusalum was something that should be done. I don't think we should start wars. I only think that we should help others when they need help and protect ourselves. I doubt that God said to invade areas. If He did, then nevermind. Whatever He says should be done.

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/17 08:45:33
Meh, as I've said before, I just go by my own morals. I'm not religious. Actually, I don't even see the need to worship someone in a specific building, when they are supposedly "everywhere".

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/17 12:06:35
Actually, a lot of people have home churches. We just go to church to be with other Christians that we know. In fact, we spend most of the time talking.

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2006/05/17 12:31:34
Well either way, I recommend you reading this book called "Bless Me Ultima."

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/18 07:12:29
Ever read the Da Vinci code?

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 13:13:42
No. That book is evil.

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/20 14:05:23
It most definitly is not evil. It was a great novel.

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/18 07:14:13
Eh, the crusades just used religion as a cover-up to gain land, wealth, and power...

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/20 13:14:23
I think you're right.

Re: Actually, that is a bit Stereotypical...

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/20 14:06:18
I know I'm right. :D

Repent! The kingdom of God is at hand.

Which one, and to what purpose?

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/16 11:43:39

Re: Which one, and to what purpose?

Tourniquet ID:015115 2006/05/17 06:00:25
Eh?

Re: Which one, and to what purpose?

Jon166 ID:017050 2006/05/17 08:01:53
First, he meant what God are you refering to. And from the name, I think you mean the Biblical John, so that would be the real God (I just love to be biased sometimes :P), Father of Christ.
Second, I think he's asking why he needs to repent while he sees himself as a decent person.

Actually, she had written something different when that reply was made...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/17 09:57:40
For all I know, it could have been the ancient god of flying penguins sending her to deliver the message 'eat more ice cream'. KH2 tells me that. I'm serious, it's full of subliminal messaging to eat ice cream.

Re: Actually, she had written something different when that reply was made...

[adult swim] ID:013661 2006/05/17 11:22:33
Sea salt ice cream....=/

No kidding.

Re: No kidding.

[adult swim] ID:013661 2006/05/17 12:16:59
Someone counted 13 scenes with sea salt ice cream in the game....

are they counting the picture on the start screen?

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/18 09:45:05

Re: are they counting the picture on the start screen?

[adult swim] ID:013661 2006/05/19 08:22:51
Don't think so.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you!...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2006/05/19 09:26:07
When we beat the final boss, my immediate thought was 'man, I should go celebrate with some ice cream.' And then I realized what I'd just said. It's fiendishly subversive!
