2 ways:
1) hack
2) get a silver chao (or shiny grey, whichever you can do), and make it a dark running type

where each character's super form has a different name, and hyper knuckles is equivalent to super sonic. But anyway, I may be imagining things, but I think I remember him actually saying 'super shadow' at some point in ShadowTH.

Yes, you're right. Super Shadow's power is probably closer to Hyper Sonic than Super Sonic, but he is still Super Shadow. Just like Hyper Knuckles is equal to Super Sonic, yet he is still Hyper Knuckles.

To me, the name/title shouldn't matter too much since it wasn't specified enough in the game....

It's Super Shadow. The only Hypers are Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. You can only be Hyper if you have the Super Emeralds.

Tails is only Super Tails when you get all the Super Emeralds. It says in the game. I'm sure if he tried using the Chaos Emeralds, he could, because of his increased age and power.

Actually, you only get super Tails for your efforts...

granted, he's got powers that make him closer to hyper anyway, but he's still just super Tails. I would guess that if Shadow could get his hands on the super emeralds he'd have a hyper form similar to Sonic's, but so far we've yet to see.

Are you sure? You have to remember, the ages. Sonic & Knuckles were each about 15. Shadow was over 50, not to mention he was built to control Chaos. Tails was only 8 back then, and could barely defend himself. I think that at his current age (11?) he might be able to be similar to Knuckles.

he may have the edge in general fighting skills, but not by much, and I doubt super or hyper forms would be any different. I think Tail's forms are just much more powerful, but consequently need more power to attain. And Knux, well, he's just not able to amp up as much, I guess. Because his hyper power isn't nearly as awesome as Sonic's.
But Fayde could own them all.

Whatever that's supposed to mean...
Either way, I think I figured out where the Special Stages are: Inside the Master Emerald. Tikal mentioned Chaos and herself being inside of the emerald, and it would make sense that there have been no Special Stages while the Master Emerald was broken. And if the Chaos Emeralds are attracted to the Master Emerald in some way, they would eventually join with the Emerald after a long time without use.

Oh believe me, there's prolly a Hypershadow too... there's Hypersonic and Solarsonic...

Uh i think i know how to get a *SUPER* Shadow Chao now, Silver chao, dark running/running, or i can hack it =)
