Hey guys

I normally wouldn't post something like this, but we're definately getting a lot more beginners recently than we have for a while, so I'm going to say some basic stuff now.

The first thing you gotta know about chao is that you can't dilly dally if you want to raise the best one you can. Sure, it's fun to play with them, but if you are raising a chao to become a powerful success, you have to make every second in the chao garden count. (What I do is I buy about three colored chao eggs, put them in kindergarten over and over again, then I take them out and put them in whatever garden I don't have my favorite chao in*. That way, when I feel that I have to actually play with the chao, I go to that garden and play with the chao that have lots of fun things to do- chao are much more interesting when they have been in kindergarten.)

*You should really keep all your effort on your one favorite chao, otherwise your efforts may be diluted, as you will have to earn twice as many rings to raise two different powerful chao.

If you want to have some fun, cool looking chao, you should really be looking into breeding- don't go and buy twenty different colored chao eggs, like I did when I first had the game. Not only are bought chao less interesting then natural born chao (they don't change color over time, no matter what), but they cost you large sums of rings that you should be using to buy chao fruit or a strong seed. Heart fruit only costs 300 rings, so it is much less expensive and produces much cooler chao.

So you are out of rings, and you really want to buy another round of chao fruit (as I always buy mine in groups of five). Now you have to go and play collect-a-hundred-rings ten times. There is a more efficient way to build up rings, which I do- When I want to get some chaos drives*, I go and play collect-a-hundred-rings on either City Escape or Radical Highway. It normally takes three plays of one of these to fill up my inventory of chaos drives, so I go and give them to my chao, and do it over again. It is a lot less pain staking than playing ten times in a row.

*They look cool, but you really shouldn't use animals- except for these five- Unicorn, Phoenix, Half-Fish, Dragon, and Skeleton Dog. All other animals not only give stats but take away stats from your chao, so I would only give it other animals if you are making a Chaos Chao.

Finally, its quite obvious that everyone wants a Chaos Chao. So for all you beginners, be ready to listen. Making a Chaos Chao is actually quite simple, however it is a long process and a very bastardly one if you make a mistake, if you'll allow me the term. All you have to do is raise your chao normally, and if you were actually nice to it it will reincarnate (it pretty much always does, unless you are a chao hater). Then raise it normally again. When it reincarnates this time, you've got to get to work. You must give your chao one AND ONLY ONE of each animal in the entire game, and if you mess up, it will just evolve normally and then you will have to raise it AGAIN! That's the bastardly part.

And just to be nice, I've decided to throw in a list of all the animals in the game (you'll have to figure out which stage they are in by yourself- I'm not that nice).

Boar
Dragon
Unicorn
Phoenix
Half Fish
Bear
Vulture
bat
Skeleton Dog
Leopard
Tiger
Gorrilla
Seal
Squirrel
Penguin
Raccoon
Parrot
Peacock
Bunny
Goat
Skunk

Hope that helps. If not, then maybe you just suck.

Oops, you forgot an animal. The Cock. Wait...The rooster isn't in this game...

Go to www.gamefaqs.com and look under Sonic Adventure 2 Batter or whatever game you have with Chao.
