My friend has this game and said not to buy Hero Fruit cause they're pointless.Is that true?

Chao fruit gives levels better, and it isn't hard to make hero chao, so yeah.

Hero Fruit are used to align a child Chao to the Hero side, so they are not completely pointless, although it is much more convinent to care for a Chao with a hero side character.

If you mean sa2b, the fruit will make the possibility of the child chao becoming a hero chao more higher.
So ifyou are going to make a hero chao, it's not pointless.
