Yes, well, let's hope this doesn't happen again....

Hello everyone.... Why do I feel like I'm walking into an empty room saying hello everyone when there is absolutely nothing in the room? Strange. Alas, I must make this post meaningful as to not spam.

Ahem, Genghis Khan rules, natural disasters suck, and the Star Wars episode movies are finally over! Rejoice! Or weep that there is no more.

I'll expect judgmental and oppressive opinions over a two to three day period. May the force be with you!

well hello there koc

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/13 09:20:08

Ohh, I didn't expect anybody to be here. How was your weekend?

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/13 09:21:04

very weekendy.

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/13 09:23:30

Yeah, same here.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/13 09:24:11

gigazubyte was here earlier

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/13 09:27:57

I read. I never new that his name came from that song.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/13 09:30:52
I kinda like that song. Its catchy. But I could never understand what they are saying. But now that I think about it, they were saying "Wake up, wake up Gigazubyte." Pretty cool.

i never knew either until he told me.

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/13 09:37:46

Interesting....

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/13 09:35:24

I thought so...

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/13 11:09:37
It gives the name a strong but subtle association with chao, and I've yet to run into anyone who had the same idea, which is a major plus.

And if you ever do...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2005/12/13 11:42:56
we would all know that the apocalypse is near!

I plan to try to escape to Saturn or something.

I favor Antarctica. But if you plan to escape to a different planet.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/13 12:30:36
Jupiter. Nuff said.

no, pluto, you morons

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 06:59:31
saturn and jupiter are gas giants. you cant land.

Pluto isn't a planet.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/14 09:25:46
And by the time the Sun envolopes the entire Earth it will have already taken Mercury and Venus.

A black hole is going to reach us first, by a longshot.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 09:33:06

actually, the closest black hole is rumored to be

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 09:45:05
a couple billion light years away. the sun will get us first.

Last I heard there was one roughly 16 million years away. The sun is about 4 billion.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 09:51:35

light years away, you mean?

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 09:57:02
because the sun is definately not 4 light years away.

or are you referring to the time left before our imnent doom?

time before doom.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 09:58:49

cool

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 10:03:47

That's actually what I was referring to...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2005/12/15 11:46:27
By the apocalypse, I mean.

pluto IS a planet- a binary planet, actually.

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 09:44:09
the long talked about 'planet x' was once thought to be plutos moon- when in fact they share an atmosphere. two planets in one- what a deal.

ps- where did you get the idea that pluto isnt a planet?

When I read in a book it is a chunk of some giant meteorite.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/14 12:01:56
It doesn't have the balls to be a planet anyway. Now Uranus, that is a planet.

It depends on what size one requires for planet status. Pluto could go either way.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 12:26:59

but you cant land on uranus either.

Akanin Noculas ID:014026 2005/12/15 01:49:27
im telling you, its gotta be pluto. i mean come on! how cool would it be to fly a plane straight up into the sky and land on another planet in a matter of minutes??

You don't exactly have to land to escape there, though...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2005/12/15 11:47:53

yep so he was, so he was

Chao-Cloud ID:016811 2005/12/13 09:31:59

After dinner I was forced to give the computer to people who were doing homework.

>_>; Why the hell are you still here then...?

because this site is addictively awesome!

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 07:02:25

That is the 8th wonder of the world.

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/14 09:09:51
And how come an educated person such as yourself never around?

hm... perhaps because, oh i dont know...

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 09:49:27
maybe he... hm.. grew up? think about it, man. obviously we're not going to be here forever.

I will, just to annoy everyone.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 09:53:24

well, here is a fine example of a waste of life.

Akanin ID:014026 2005/12/14 09:57:47
lol.

only 1/50 of my life on average.

Gigazubyte ID:015441 2005/12/14 10:30:55

You couldn't make it to Pluto...

Jon166 ID:017050 2005/12/14 11:22:21
The freefall of a few months in outer space would make your bones so brittle that a single step would break your leg. It would probably take longer than your life to get there anyway. You also would run out of oxygen. There also aren't enough fossil fuels left to fly you as far as we can see in telescopes. And even if you could have a ship that had artificial gravity, a chriogenic bed that would automatically wake you up and keep you alive for years, plants to supply you with oxygen, water and artificial sunlight to keep them alive, an alternative energy to power your ship, and super sensative technology to steer you around the astriods, you still wouldn't be able to make it out there before the apocolypse, which won't come by the sun swallowing us or a blackhole eating our matter into absolutely nothing.

...Where the hell did this come from? G-google?

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/14 12:03:35

It's called the NASA channel...

Jon166 ID:017050 2005/12/14 12:46:49
and some other things I've picked up over the years.

Well apparently I need to order that channel. Do you have Direct TV?

knower of chaos ID:011746 2005/12/14 13:03:21

Re: Well apparently I need to order that channel. Do you have Direct TV?

Jon166 ID:017050 2005/12/15 08:49:51
Dish Network, but you can probably get it on Direct TV too. It's all boring science, though. I suggest the Discovery Channel.

I used to have this channel...

Dark Celestial Dragon ID:011103 2005/12/15 11:59:57
where all they would show is a view from a satellite in space, and mostly of the moon. It was pretty cool, not to mention calming.
