You can get a purple chao egg at the black market, but there are some requirements, 1. You need a certain amount of emblems, gut I don't know how many, I only copied game data to a new memory card. 2. You need 600 rings. 3. Depending on what eggs you have, you may need to copy game data to a different memory card that doesn't have chao data on it. *You may have to do this a few times to get the desired egg.
By the way, that's how I got my purple chao. I also got two pink chao, and three yellow chao.
