it don't matter what your name is. your name could be "Lord of the Wierd" and it would do absolutly nothing. why is everyone obsessed with names?

Because a cool name amplifies your personality and gives you a base to work off of.

1. Names become a symbol of recognition for all that see
them and when somone has a well known name, you can tend
to expect the same character every time. A simple generic
name does nothing for someone who doesn't know them very
well. It's a lot easier to act an alter ego online that
than try to maintain a sense of individuality when others
can't even define who you are.

Gives you a way to express your personality more fully. It also advertizes your affinities and attracts more attention. The best part is that at this board, you can take a major character as your personality while still being origional, one of the perks of a limited membership. I have a theory that when the new people here start creating characters and act on their alter Egos, they will bring back the glory days of RP mania and encourage real discussion. They will also have a cahnce to grow by sharpening their minds against other board members in a society where complete thought and eloquence are ge nerally ignored. Think for a moment, how often does a teenager use a complete, gramatically correct sentence with good vocabullary and diction at least once a day with his friends? Right, somewhere between zilch and NADA! But, if that same person takes an avatar that is both intelligent and witty, he will feel pressure to act more like that character online and otherwise.

About 5 months after the games original release. knower of chaos is clever in its own ways. It was knower of "CH-OWs" in the Chao BBS but knower of "KAOS" in the expert. Of course, I've had a few others like goooooogmab or...I think that's pretty much it. But ultimatly, a generic name is staying true to the franchise, and true to the BBS. This BBS is becoming like a clan.
