dark/running/swimming chao: hard to get?

Right now he is a dark running chao. I'm trying to get him to evolve into running/swimming. His swimming stats are at 450. I think I gave about 400 chao drives and yellow animals combined. Is there something I'm doing wrong? How can I get him to evolve?

As for the mating season, he already had flowers bloom around him twice.

he wont, well liek its...... ok ok

see he will change every time you give him a yellow chaos drive (after he has layed an egg that is)

and keep giving them to him and you'll notice a verry small change eatch timeuntill BOOm there you go
