Just needs to evolve, I done this anyway right after one of my chao evolved two years ago....

Canovis, I believe you were thinking of three hours, which is how long it takes a chao to evolve. Three 'years' is actually nine hours.

I tested this a long time ago, It took one of my chao less than three hours to evolve, even when I took it to the doctor after that, its age was still 0.

Well, that one was an anomaly. I've never heard of any others outside the pattern.
