Chao Hacks- Are these even good?

On Sonic-cult.org, they have a variety of chao they all hacked using GBA Sonic Advanced. They hacked a type of silver chao that resembles a power-dark chao, but silver and more crap on its head. My friend hacked me the same, yet the stats have weird characters like: š▌7Åõ in it. Just DO they have to make hacked chao like this? Why doesn't SA2B read these kinds?

i'd say DON'T use the hacks. my brother and i were saving for months to get a shiny brown egg. then i TRIED to use a STUPID cheat when selling the shell and then we had no chao, no rings (well, just about) and no shell! CHEATS ARE USELESS! plus, it's more exciting when you do it all yourself:)
