I've played it. I like that little trumpet noise that plays whenever they run around [in both games], it's funny!

Anyways, I got very far on the first Pikmin game (although I never bought it; just rented it. I bought the player guide, though), but I had to stop playing because it's too sad. Especially the journal entry where he drew a picture of his family, and the music for the Forest of Hope gave me this weird sad feeling. I felt like I really had to get Captain Olimar back home.

Unfornatunely for me, I picked the last day to go to the final boss world with only over 200 pikmin. Even when I finally defeated him(with at least 10 pikmin left) I ran out of time to carry the last treasure back.

I never beat him in the first game, but once I beat him in the second game with only three Pikmin left in the cave with me.(Fortunately, the fire-proof suit for Olimar and Louie took exactly three pikmin to carry.PHEW!!!)

It took me three tries to do it in time...

but I never ran out of pikmin. What I found is that once he's down to about one eighth of his health it becomes much harder to stun him for long enough, so if you have enough bomb rocks and yellows left just finish him off in one big boom from there.
